Debris from aerial interceptions reported in Dubai

Two minor incidents were reported in Dubai early Saturday after debris from aerial interceptions struck building facades; no injuries were reported.

Officials said debris fell on the facade of the Oracle building in Dubai Internet City. Emergency teams responded and confirmed the situation was contained, reporting no injuries or fire. Authorities described the incident as minor. In a separate incident, debris from another aerial interception struck a building in the Dubai Marina area. Authorities confirmed there were no fires or injuries, and emergency teams handled the situation promptly.

The incidents come amid heightened regional tensions. On April 3, Iran’s military spokesman Ebrahim Zolfaghari threatened to strike US and Israeli-linked infrastructure across the region, with his video address featuring footage of Stargate UAE signaling it could become a target. Stargate UAE, described as the world’s largest AI campus outside the United States, is being developed in Abu Dhabi as part of a broader 5-gigawatt UAE- U.S. AI Campus spanning 10 square miles. The project’s computing cluster, backed by OpenAI, Oracle, Nvidia, Cisco, SoftBank, and G42, is planned to debut at one gigawatt capacity, with an initial 200-megawatt phase expected to go live in 2026.
