Digital India Innovation Zone at IMC 2024 highlightes innovative technologies

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) on Thursday inaugurated the Digital India Innovation Zone at the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2024, offering delegates immersive interactive experiences focused on India’s Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI).

The Digital India Innovation Zone aims to engage visitors with key DPIs such as DigiLocker, UPI, Aadhaar, eSanjeevani, and ONDC, showcasing the significant technological advancements achieved under the Digital India initiative. The pavilion includes booths from MeitY’s organizations, including C-DAC, NIXI, and SAMEER, highlighting innovative solutions developed in India.

Engaging Booths and Live Demonstrations

Visitors can explore various services at the pavilion. The UMANG booth provides real-time access to essential services, including blood bank searches and passport assistance. At the DigiLocker booth, attendees can participate in a game that allows them to secure documents in a digital vault and earn prizes.

The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) is showcasing live demonstrations of the Scan & Pay feature through UPI, highlighting its critical role in the ongoing digital payment revolution. Additionally, the ONDC stall offers insights into its impact on e-commerce, featuring live data and seller stories.

Innovations in Healthcare and Communication

The Digital India BHASHINI booth presents tools such as Baatcheet, a cross-language translation app, and ConversationAIly, designed to enhance doctor-patient communication. A teleconsultation center at the eSanjeevani booth demonstrates how India’s National Telemedicine Service is bridging healthcare access for citizens in both urban and rural areas.

The Aadhaar booth features a unique face authentication solution that impacts millions of lives, while the Mann Ki Baat booth enables delegates to listen to episodes in their regional languages.

Promoting a Multilingual Internet

National Internet Exchange of India(NIXI)’s booth educates visitors about the importance of the .भारत domain, providing opportunities to register their own domains and emphasizing the need for a multilingual internet.

Showcasing 5G and Advanced Technologies

C-DAC is demonstrating its advancements in 5G technology, including the IOS-5GN project, while SAMEER exhibits innovations in communication and healthcare technologies, including a scale model of a superconducting MRI scanner.

A Global Platform for Innovation

The India Mobile Congress 2024 serves as a key event in showcasing India’s innovation ecosystem, featuring over 400 exhibitors and participation from more than 120 countries. Organized by the Department of Telecommunications, the four-day event runs from October 15-18, and includes over 100 sessions with more than 600 speakers from around the globe.

The Digital India Innovation Zone reinforces India’s commitment to improving the ease of living, doing business, and governance for its citizens through cutting-edge digital solutions.
