EAM Jaishankar to visit Kuwait on August 18

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will undertake an official visit to Kuwait on August 18, as announced by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Thursday.

During his visit, Jaishankar is scheduled to meet with Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya and will also have engagements with other Kuwaiti leadership. The discussions will cover a range of topics including political, trade, investment, energy, security, cultural, consular, and people-to-people relations between the two countries. Additionally, Jaishankar and his Kuwaiti counterparts will exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.

This upcoming visit follows Jaishankar’s recent trip to the Maldives from August 9 to 11. In the Maldives, he was greeted by Foreign Minister Moosa Zameer and worked on strengthening bilateral ties. The visit included the inauguration of High Impact Community Development Projects and the signing of memoranda of understanding (MoUs) in Male.

Jaishankar described his meetings in the Maldives as highly productive, and Maldives Foreign Minister Moosa Zameer commended the visit as a significant step in India’s commitment to community empowerment in the region. Jaishankar also met with Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu on August 10, where he reaffirmed New Delhi’s dedication to enhancing India-Maldives relations for the benefit of both nations and the broader region.

“Privileged to call on President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. Conveyed greetings from PM @NarendraModi. Committed to deepening India-Maldives ties for the benefit of our people and the region,” Jaishankar posted on X.
