In a landmark event, the Embassy of India in Riyadh organized “Samskritotsava” as part of “Pravasi Parichay”, showcasing the vibrancy of the Sanskrit language and recognizing the dedicated efforts of the Indian community in preserving it in Saudi Arabia.
The unique celebration marked “Sanskrit Day,” conducted entirely in Sanskrit, and was organized in collaboration with Samskrita Bharati.
This event represents the first time an Indian Mission anywhere in the world has hosted an event entirely in Sanskrit, aiming to promote the significance and learning of this ancient language.
Ambassador Suhel Ajaz Khan, in his opening remarks, emphasized the profound cultural and spiritual importance of Sanskrit, highlighting its veneration worldwide. The program featured various performances by the Indian community in Saudi Arabia, including Abhinaya Gheetam, Gana Geetam, Subhashita Natakam, and Prachanna Vesham, all presented in Sanskrit. sh.
Sanskrit, often regarded as the mother of several languages, continues to hold a unique place in the cultural tapestry of India and the world, as evidenced by the Embassy of India's “Samskritotsava” in Riyadh.
