Heavy Rain in Delhi: Traffic Advisory Issued by Police

Delhi-NCR has been experiencing heavy rain since Wednesday morning, with light showers observed in some areas on Tuesday. The India Meteorological Department forecasts light to moderate rain today and tomorrow, which has also improved air quality.

Today’s temperature is expected to drop by up to two degrees Celsius, reaching around 34 degrees Celsius. Yesterday, the maximum temperature was 36.2 degrees Celsius, while the minimum was 27.4 degrees Celsius. Humidity levels ranged from 65 to 95 percent, and the AQI was 93, categorized as ‘satisfactory.’

Rainfall measurements on Tuesday evening included 6.6 mm in Palam, drizzle in Lodhi Road and Ridge area, 0.7 mm in Ayanagar, 6.0 mm in Pusa area, 3.5 mm in Pitampura, and 8.5 mm in Mayur Vihar.

Delhi Traffic Police reported traffic disruptions due to a damaged sewer pipeline on Ashok Road, a truck breakdown on Lajpat Nagar Flyover, and waterlogging at Nigam Bodh Ghat. Additionally, a fallen tree near Haryana Maitri Bhawan in Rani Bagh has affected Road No. 43. Travelers are advised to plan accordingly.
