ICC suspends Sri Lanka Cricket with immediate effect over government interference

The International Cricket Council Board has promptly suspended Sri Lanka Cricket's ICC membership, citing a breach of obligations, particularly the requirement to independently manage its affairs without government interference.

In its statement, the ICC said: “The conditions of the suspension will be decided by the ICC Board in due course.”

The ICC Board will convene on November 21 to decide the specific conditions of the suspension, providing clarity on the subsequent course of action.
