India has done “wonderfully well” under Rohit Sharma, says Kapil Dev

The 1983 World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev has praised Team India skipper Rohit Sharma’s captaincy, saying that the team has performed “wonderfully well” in the ongoing T20 World Cup under the 37-year-old’s leadership.

In an interview with ANI, Dev expressed his delight at the ‘Men in Blue’ reaching the T20 World Cup final after a decade, calling it a “wonderful” achievement.

Commenting on Axar Patel and Jasprit Bumrah’s performances against England in India’s last match, the legendary all-rounder stressed that it was a team effort, rather than the work of any single player.

Dev emphasized that when a team reaches the final, the entire squad deserves praise, not just individual players. He underlined his belief in the importance of collective team performance over recognising individual contributions.

The T20 World Cup final is set for an exciting showdown, as the two undefeated teams, India and South Africa, prepare to face off in Barbados on Saturday.
