The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) won the IPL 2024 by defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by eight wickets in a one-sided final at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday.

This victory marks KKR’s third IPL trophy, with their first two wins coming in 2012 and 2014.

Sunrisers Hyderabad, whose only IPL win came in 2016, were bowled out for a paltry 113 in 18.3 overs. After wreaking havoc with the ball, the Shreyas Iyer-led KKR chased down the total with ease in 10.3 overs.

Australian quick Mitchell Starc, who had a rough season otherwise, was the star of the night, as he blew away the Hyderabad top order. He was adjudged the ‘Player of the Match’ fir his figures of 2-14 (3.0).
