Lok Sabha Election 2024 : Voter turnout 59.06 pc as of 7:45 pm

The sixth phase of the General Elections 2024 saw a voter turnout of approximately 59.06% across 58 parliamentary constituencies as of 7:45 PM. Despite hot weather conditions in certain regions, voter enthusiasm remained high, with many still in queues as polling closed.

In the Anantnag-Rajouri parliamentary constituency, polling was conducted at 2,338 stations, featuring live webcasting. Voting commenced at 7 AM, and long queues of voters were observed throughout the day. Twenty candidates, including two women, are contesting for the Lok Sabha seat from this constituency.

Special provisions were made for Kashmiri migrant voters residing in relief camps in Delhi, Jammu, and Udhampur. They had the option to vote in person at designated polling stations or use postal ballots. Specifically, 21 special polling stations were set up in Jammu, one in Udhampur, and four in Delhi.

Polling personnel and security forces ensured a peaceful and orderly voting process, contributing to an atmosphere of calm and festivity at the polling stations.
