Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Nearly 50.71% Voter Turnout by 3 PM in Third Phase

Voting for the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections is underway, with nearly 50.71% of average voter turnout recorded by 3 PM in the afternoon. This phase covers polling in 93 constituencies across 11 states.

According to reports, by 3 PM in the afternoon, Assam recorded a turnout of 63.08%, Bihar 46.69%, Chhattisgarh 58.19%, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu 52.43%, Goa 61.39%, Gujarat 47.03%, Karnataka 54.20%, Madhya Pradesh 54.09%, Maharashtra 42.63%, Uttar Pradesh 46.78%, and West Bengal 63.11%.

It’s noteworthy that in the third phase, a total of 1331 candidates are contesting for 93 Lok Sabha seats across 11 states, including 72 general seats, 11 reserved for Scheduled Tribes, and 10 reserved for Scheduled Castes. Among them are eight candidates vying for the Betul seat in Madhya Pradesh.

Prior to this, the first two phases of the general elections saw smooth and peaceful polling for 189 seats. The results of all seven phases will be announced on June 4.
