Over 5 lakh youth volunteers join 4th edition of Har Ghar Tiranga campaign

The Ministry of Culture has announced the launch of the 4th edition of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, encouraging citizens to hoist the National Flag at their homes and celebrate the spirit of patriotism ahead of Independence Day.

Union Minister for Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Monday said that this year, we are going to celebrate the fourth edition of the Tiranga campaign, for which more than 5 lakh youths have registered as volunteers. These youths will inspire people for the Tiranga campaign. 

Calling the campaign “more than just a campaign,” the Minister described it as an “emotional movement that unites 1.4 billion Indians under the timeless colours of our National Flag.” He added that Har Ghar Tiranga aims to instil patriotism, foster civic pride, and spread awareness about the Tiranga as a living symbol of India’s democracy and independence.

During the event, Secretary of the Ministry of Culture Vivek Aggarwal gave a detailed overview of the campaign through a presentation. 

The Har Ghar Tiranga initiative seeks to deepen the personal connection between citizens and the National Flag, moving beyond formal or institutional associations. It encourages every Indian to hoist the Tiranga with pride, honouring the sacrifices made for freedom and reaffirming the nation’s commitment to unity, integrity, and progress.

The Ministry of Culture, as the nodal ministry, is coordinating with State Governments, Union Territories, educational institutions, community organisations, and the public to ensure maximum participation. Citizens are encouraged to display the Tiranga at their homes, offices, and public spaces, and to share their celebrations on social media using the hashtag #HarGharTiranga.
