PIB debunks AI-generated video of EAM Jaishankar’s ‘apology’

The Press Information Bureau’s (PIB) Fact Check unit has exposed a doctored video circulating on social media that falsely shows External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar issuing an apology.

In a post on X, PIB Fact Check clarified that the video is not authentic but generated using artificial intelligence (AI), and is part of a deliberate disinformation campaign.

“This is an AI-generated video and entirely fake. It is being circulated as part of false propaganda,” the agency stated.

The manipulated clip had been widely shared across social media platforms, falsely portraying Dr. Jaishankar in a compromised position. Officials have urged the public to remain vigilant and not to fall prey to such misleading content.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, along with other official channels, echoed the advisory and stressed the importance of verifying content through trusted sources.

“This appears to be part of a coordinated attempt to spread misinformation and disturb public trust,” PIB added.

Citizens have been urged to report such fake content and rely only on verified government platforms for accurate updates.
