Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday strongly condemned the recent attacks on the United Arab Emirates (UAE) that left three Indian nationals injured, calling the targeting of civilians and critical infrastructure “unacceptable.”
In a post on X, PM Modi said, “Strongly condemn the attacks on the UAE that resulted in injuries to three Indian nationals. Targeting civilians and infrastructure is unacceptable. India stands in firm solidarity with the UAE and reiterates its support for the peaceful resolution of all issues through dialogue and diplomacy.”
Highlighting the broader regional implications, the Prime Minister also stressed the importance of maintaining secure global trade routes, particularly through the Strait of Hormuz. He noted that “ensuring safe and unimpeded navigation through the Strait of Hormuz is vital for enduring regional peace, stability and global energy security.”
The strikes, which reportedly hit the Fujairah Petroleum Industries Zone (FOIZ), left three Indian nationals injured.
In a post on X, Indian Embassy in the UAE said, “Three Indian nationals have been injured in today’s attacks in Fujairah. We are in touch with local authorities for ensuring adequate medical care and welfare of the affected Indian nationals.”
Earlier, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal reiterated India’s firm stance against targeting civilians. “The attack on Fujairah that resulted in injury to three Indian nationals is unacceptable. We call for immediate cessation of these hostilities and the targeting of civilian infrastructure and innocent civilians,” he said.
India also emphasised the importance of maintaining stability in critical global trade routes, urging “free and unimpeded navigation and commerce” through the Strait of Hormuz in accordance with international law. Reaffirming its diplomatic position, New Delhi underscored that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable path to restoring peace across West Asia.
As tensions escalate in the region, the MEA reiterated that “India stands ready to support all efforts for a peaceful resolution of issues,” stressing the need to prevent further escalation and safeguard civilian lives.
