PM Modi holds talks with Danish counterpart; focus on Green Growth and India–EU FTA

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a telephonic conversation with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen on Tuesday, reaffirming the commitment of both nations to further deepen the India–Denmark Green Strategic Partnership.

The two leaders discussed cooperation in areas including trade, investment, innovation, energy, water management, food processing and sustainable development.

Prime Minister Modi extended his best wishes to Denmark on its ongoing Presidency of the Council of the European Union and its tenure as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.

The leaders also exchanged views on regional and global issues. Prime Minister Modi reiterated India’s consistent stand for the peaceful and early resolution of the Ukraine conflict and restoration of stability.

Prime Minister Frederiksen expressed Denmark’s strong support for the early conclusion of a mutually beneficial India–EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA). She also extended support for the success of the AI Impact Summit, to be hosted by India in 2026.
