PM Modi interacts with Indian contingent heading to Paris Olympics 2024

Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with the Indian contingent heading for the Paris Olympics 2024 on Thursday.

“Interacted with our contingent heading to Paris for the Olympics. I am confident athletes will give their best and make India proud. Their life journeys and success give hope to 140 crore Indians,” PM Modi wrote on X.

Earlier, PM Modi urged the nation to rally behind the athletes as they aim to bring glory to India in the upcoming Paris Olympics, starting on July 26.

PM Modi highlighted several firsts for India in this Olympics, mentioning that this time, the country will witness new milestones. In shooting, Indian players are showcasing remarkable talent, and both men’s and women’s teams have qualified in table tennis. Indian female shooters are part of the Indian shotgun team.

Additionally, the PM underscored that Indian athletes will compete in wrestling and horse riding in categories where they have never participated before.

The PM also emphasized that this time, the excitement in sports will reach a different level. He recalled that a few months ago, India achieved its best performance in the World Para Athletics Championship. Indian players have also earned significant honors in chess and badminton. The PM stressed that now the entire nation hopes that Indian athletes perform exceptionally well in the Olympics, win medals, and capture the hearts of the countrymen.

Team India will once again compete in the multi-sport extravaganza, which runs from July 26 to August 11. The country aims to surpass its tally of seven medals from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, which included one gold, two silver, and four bronze medals.
