Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday expressed grief over the passing of noted musician and composer Garimella Balakrishna Prasad Garu, describing him as a gifted artist whose soul-stirring renditions deeply touched countless hearts.
In a post on social media platform X, the Prime Minister highlighted Prasad’s significant contribution to preserving and promoting India’s rich spiritual and musical heritage.
“Saddened by the passing of Garimella Balakrishna Prasad Garu. His soul-stirring renditions had touched countless hearts, preserving and celebrating our rich spiritual and musical heritage. He will be remembered as a gifted musician and composer. My heartfelt condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti,” PM Modi posted.
He further expressed his condolences in Telugu, paying tribute to the late musician’s remarkable legacy and extending sympathies to his bereaved family and followers.
Garimella Balakrishna Prasad was widely celebrated for his devotional music, earning immense respect for his contributions to Carnatic music and spiritual discourse.
