Organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the WTSA is a significant global conference held every four years to establish standards for the telecom and digital sectors. This is the first time the assembly will take place in India and the Asia-Pacific region, with over 3,000 industry leaders, policymakers, and technical experts from more than 190 countries participating.

WTSA 2024 will focus on shaping future standards for next-generation technologies such as 6G, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), big data, and cybersecurity. Hosting this event offers India a unique opportunity to influence global telecom policy and direct future technological developments. Indian startups and research institutions are expected to gain valuable insights into intellectual property rights and standard-essential patents.

The India Mobile Congress 2024 will highlight India’s innovation ecosystem, with major telecom companies and innovators showcasing advancements in quantum technology, circular economy solutions, 6G and 5G use cases, cloud and edge computing, IoT, semiconductors, cybersecurity, and green technologies. The event will also feature exhibitions on satellite communication (satcom) and electronics manufacturing.

IMC 2024 is Asia’s largest digital technology forum, drawing participation from over 400 exhibitors, 900 startups, and representatives from 120 countries. It aims to showcase more than 900 technology use cases, host over 100 sessions, and engage 600 global and Indian speakers. The event has become a global platform for innovative solutions, bringing together key stakeholders from industries, governments, academia, and the startup ecosystem.
