PM Modi to release postage stamp, coin as part of RSS centenary celebrations on October 1

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the centenary celebrations of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) as the Chief Guest on October 1. The event will take place at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre in New Delhi at 10:30 a.m.

Honouring 100 years of contributions of the RSS, the Prime Minister will release a commemorative postage stamp and coin. He will also deliver a keynote address to the gathering

Founded in 1925 in Nagpur by Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, the RSS was established as a volunteer-based organization with the aim of fostering cultural awareness, discipline, service, and social responsibility. Over the past century, the Sangh has emerged as a people-led movement that places emphasis on patriotism and national character formation.

The RSS envisions “Sarvangeena Unnati” — the all-round development of India — and encourages every swayamsevak to dedicate himself to this goal. Its activities span education, health, social welfare, and disaster relief.

RSS volunteers have played a role in relief efforts during floods, earthquakes, and cyclones, while its affiliated organizations have worked toward youth empowerment, women’s participation, farmer welfare, and community strengthening.
