President Murmu, Slovak Leader Pellegrini Push AI-Digital Ties for Inclusive Growth

President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday met President Peter Pellegrini at Rashtrapati Bhavan, where she welcomed him and recalled her state visit to the Slovak Republic last year. During the meeting, President Murmu expressed her appreciation for the gracious welcome and hospitality extended to her by President Pellegrini and the Slovak leadership during her visit.

She appreciated President Pellegrini’s participation in the India AI Impact Summit 2026, describing it as a defining moment for India and the world. She noted that the summit is anchored in the principles of “People, Planet, and Progress” and envisions a future where AI advances humanity and fosters inclusive growth.

President Murmu emphasised that India operates on the principle of “technology for public good” and has organised the summit with this focus, aiming to make AI accessible and beneficial for everyone. She underlined that India-Slovakia cooperation in AI and digital technologies has significant potential to offer value to the world.

The President expressed satisfaction with the increased momentum in bilateral ties, driven by high-level engagements and cooperation across multiple sectors. She highlighted that the partnership has steadily expanded over the years in areas including trade, investment, science and technology, defence cooperation, and people-to-people ties.

Both leaders agreed that President Pellegrini’s visit will add impetus to the evolving bilateral partnership between India and the Slovak Republic and introduce new dimensions, including in digital cooperation.
