President Droupadi Murmu is set to visit Maharashtra from September 2 to 4, where she will engage in a series of events across the state, highlighting her commitment to diverse sectors including education, women’s empowerment, and state governance.
On September 2, President Murmu will attend the golden jubilee celebration of the Shri Warana Women Co-operative Group at Warananagar in Kolhapur. The cooperative has been instrumental in promoting women’s empowerment and entrepreneurship in the region over the past 50 years.
The following day, the President will preside over the 21st convocation ceremony of Symbiosis International (Deemed University) in Pune. She will address the graduating students and faculty. Later that day, she is scheduled to participate in the centenary celebration of the Maharashtra Legislative Council in Mumbai, reflecting on the council’s 100 years of service to the state.
On September 4, President Murmu will inaugurate the Buddha Vihar at Udgir in Latur district, a significant addition to the region’s cultural and spiritual heritage. Following the inauguration, she will address a gathering of beneficiaries of the ‘Shasan Aplya Dari’ and ‘Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojna’ schemes of the Government of Maharashtra, which focus on enhancing governance and supporting women’s welfare.
