President Droupadi Murmu on Friday visited the Headquarters of the Army Training Command (ARTRAC) in Shimla, where she was briefed on the evolution and key role of the command in strengthening the operational efficiency of the Indian Army.
The President was received by Kavinder Gupta and Lieutenant General Devendra Sharma, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of ARTRAC.
The briefing highlighted ARTRAC’s initiatives in areas such as drone training, adoption of niche technologies, the concept of ‘Red Teaming’, and ongoing efforts towards digitisation and automation.
The President noted that ARTRAC plays a comprehensive role in shaping warfare concepts, resource development, and collaboration with friendly foreign nations and sister services. She described the command as a crucial pillar in advancing military excellence, self-reliance, and the vision of a developed India.
With its 32 premier training establishments, ARTRAC continues to enhance professionalism within the Army, offering a distinct perspective on modern warfighting.
During the visit, the President also interacted with senior officials on strengthening training frameworks and urged all ranks to maintain high standards of preparedness while continuing their work with renewed dedication.
