Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will review the Combined Graduation Parade (CGP) of the 217th Course at the Air Force Academy (AFA), Dundigal, Hyderabad, on June 13, marking the successful completion of pre-commissioning training for flight cadets across various branches of the Indian Air Force (IAF).
According to the Defence Ministry, Rajnath Singh, who will serve as the reviewing officer, will confer the President’s Commission on the graduating cadets. The ceremony will also witness the presentation of Wings and Brevets to flight cadets of the Indian Air Force, as well as officers and trainees of the Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard and Vietnam, following the successful completion of their training.
A key milestone of this year’s parade will be the commissioning of the first batch of women cadets from the National Defence Academy (NDA), Pune. The cadets passed out from the NDA on May 30, 2025, and subsequently underwent branch-specific training at the Air Force Academy.
The Defence Minister will also present the President’s Plaque to the cadets who secure first position in the overall order of merit in the Flying Branch, Navigation Stream and Ground Duty branches.
The ceremony will feature displays by the Akash Ganga skydiving team and the Air Warrior Drill Team (AWDT). Fly-pasts led by Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh, will showcase four trainer aircraft — Pilatus PC-7 MkII, Hawk, Kiran and Chetak.
Aerial demonstrations by the Su-30 MKI fighter aircraft, the Sarang helicopter display team and the Suryakiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT) are expected to be among the major highlights of the event.
The parade will be streamed live on the Indian Air Force’s social media platforms and telecast on DD National from 7 am on June 13.
