India expects above-average July rainfall after weak June

India is likely to receive above-average rainfall in July after receiving 11% below average in June, the weather department said on Monday, keeping alive the possibility of higher farm output and economic growth in Asia's third-biggest economy. Thousands displaced in floods in north-eastern India, rain abates

Thousands of people have been displaced in India's north-eastern state of Assam and at least 37 people have died in heavy rain, floods and landslides in the last two months, officials said on Monday. Floods in Indonesia’s South Sulawesi kill 14

Floods and landslides triggered by heavy rain have killed 14 people in South Sulawesi, while 115 people were evacuated, the country's disaster management agency said on Saturday.
