Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh launches Bharat Tex 2026

Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh on Wednesday launched Bharat Tex 2026, India’s flagship global textile event, which is expected to become one of the largest integrated textile fairs in the world.

The event will be held from July 14 to July 17, at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi and will showcase the entire textile value chain, ranging from fibre and yarn to fabrics, garments, technical textiles and sustainable innovations.

According to the Ministry of Textiles, the upcoming edition is expected to witness participation from over 3,500 business exhibitors, more than 7,000 international buyers from over 140 countries, and around 1.3 lakh trade visitors.

Speaking at the launch event, Singh said Bharat Tex aims to position India as a reliable and sustainable sourcing destination and a major investment hub for the global textile industry.

He added that the event reflects the Prime Minister’s 5F vision -Farm to Fibre, Fibre to Factory, Factory to Fashion, and Fashion to Foreign markets – under the Make in India initiative.

Bharat Tex 2026 will bring together stakeholders across the textile ecosystem, including manufacturers, designers, exporters, startups, MSMEs and policymakers.

The exhibition will feature sectors such as apparel and fashion, home textiles, technical textiles, handicrafts, handlooms and advanced manufacturing technologies.

The Ministry said the event will also include knowledge sessions, policy dialogues, reverse buyer-seller meets and industry interactions aimed at facilitating business partnerships and boosting exports.

A key highlight of the event will be the Global Textile Dialogue, where policymakers, industry leaders and experts will discuss emerging trends such as sustainable textiles, ESG standards, Industry 5.0, global trade dynamics and resilient supply chains.

The fair will also provide a platform for MSMEs, designers, start-ups and academic institutions to showcase innovations and connect with global buyers.

Bharat Tex 2026 is an industry-led initiative organised by the Bharat Tex Trade Federation (BTTF), an umbrella body comprising 11 textile-related Export Promotion Councils and other industry organisations.

The Ministry said the event builds on the success of earlier editions held in 2024 and 2025 and is expected to further strengthen India’s position in the global textile and apparel market while promoting investment, innovation and sustainable manufacturing.
