“Thank You”: US Vice President-elect JD Vance expresses gratitude after historic election win

Following Donald Trump’s decisive victory over Democratic candidate Kamala Harris in the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election, Vice President-elect JD Vance shared a heartfelt message on social media platform X, thanking his supporters, his wife Usha Vance, and President-elect Trump.

“THANK YOU! To my beautiful wife for making it possible to do this. To President Donald J. Trump, for giving me such an opportunity to serve our country at this level. And to the American people for their trust. I will never stop fighting for ALL of you,” Vance expressed.

The Vice President-elect is married to Usha Chilukuri Vance, who hails from Vadluru village in the Nidadavolu assembly constituency in Andhra Pradesh. Her family moved abroad over 50 years ago, but they have maintained strong ties to the village. In the past, they donated land for the construction of the Sai Baba, Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy, and Goddess Bala Seeta temples, contributing to the welfare of the local community.

Leaders worldwide, including U.S. Chamber of Commerce CEO Suzanne P. Clark, extended their congratulations to Trump and Vance. Clark highlighted the Chamber’s commitment to collaborating with the incoming administration on policies to stimulate economic growth, reduce regulatory burdens on businesses, and expand innovation in artificial intelligence and energy production.

In her statement, Clark said, “We congratulate President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance… With the election behind us, it is time to focus on advancing an economic growth agenda… We look forward to working with the Trump-Vance administration and Congress to preserve pro-growth tax policies, bring regulatory relief to business, harness the power of AI, and expand an all-of-the-above energy production policy.”

International leaders also joined in the congratulations. Muhammad Yunus, Chief Adviser of Bangladesh, conveyed his “heartfelt felicitations” to Trump, emphasizing the strong history of cooperation between the U.S. and Bangladesh. Canadian President Justin Trudeau expressed his anticipation for working with Trump to enhance opportunities, prosperity, and security between Canada and the U.S., stating, “The friendship between Canada and the U.S. is the envy of the world.”

Spanish President Pedro Sanchez and European Council President Charles Michel also extended their congratulations, underlining the importance of strong bilateral relations and transatlantic partnerships. Michel reiterated the EU’s dedication to “constructive cooperation” with the U.S. and maintaining a robust alliance.
