Trade between India-Bangladesh through Mahdipur-Sonamasjid will remain suspended for a week

Trade between India and Bangladesh through Mahadipur-Sonamasjid land port will remain suspended for a week from April 8 on the occasion of the Eid-ul -Fitr and Pahela Baishakh. Pahela Baishakh  is the first day of the Bengali calendar which is also the official calendar of Bangladesh.

However, movement of travellers through the land port will remain as usual.

President of Sonamasjid Land Port C&F Agents Association confirmed the news saying that all kinds of business activities through the land port between the countries will remain halted for a week, reports United News of Bangladesh

The trade through the land port will resume from April 15 and India’s Mahadipur Land Port Exporters Association was informed about the matter, the president said.

He also said that passenger movement through check posts will remain normal despite suspension of trade.
