UAE expresses concern over Yemen escalation, urges dialogue and restraint

The United Arab Emirates has said it is closely following recent developments in Yemen and has expressed deep concern over the continuing escalation, urging the Yemeni people to exercise restraint and prioritise wisdom to safeguard security and stability in the country.

In a statement, the UAE called on Yemenis to place dialogue above confrontation and to resolve differences through understanding and consensus on sustainable political solutions. It said these efforts should follow a rational and responsible approach that prioritises the interests of the country and its people, with stability and prosperity as key objectives.

The statement said de-escalation and constructive dialogue remain the most effective path to overcoming current challenges and achieving lasting stability in Yemen and the region.

Separately, the Ministry of Defence said the return of UAE forces follows a previously announced decision to conclude the remaining missions of counter-terrorism units. It said the process was conducted safely and in coordination with all relevant partners, adding that the move reflects the completion of their assigned tasks.
