UPSC reschedules civil services preliminary exam to June 16 amid Lok Sabha polls

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has changed the date of the civil services preliminary examination from May 26 to June 16. This change is because of the Lok Sabha elections.

The civil services exam happens every year in three parts: preliminary, main, and interview. It’s for selecting officers for jobs like Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and Indian Police Service (IPS).

Because of the upcoming general election, the commission decided to move the civil services preliminary exam from May 26 to June 16. This exam also acts as a screening test for the Indian Forest Service exam.

The Lok Sabha elections will happen in seven phases, starting on April 19. The votes will be counted on June 4.
