Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024: transformative visions and major investments unveiled

Adani Group Chairperson Gautam Adani lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi's extraordinary vision, describing Vibrant Gujarat as a stunning manifestation of grand ambition, massive scale, meticulous governance, and flawless execution. He emphasized how the summit has ignited a nationwide movement, with all states marching forward in competition and cooperation to fundamentally remodel India's industrial landscape. Adani announced a colossal investment plan, stating, “Over the next five years, the Adani group will invest over Rs 2 Lakh Crores in Gujarat,” focusing on expanding the green supply chain for an Aatmanirbhar Bharat and creating the largest integrated renewable energy ecosystem.

Jeffery Chun, Global CEO of Simmtech from South Korea, expressed his honor to participate in the event and shared insights into the company's role as a supply chain partner for the semiconductor assembly and test industry. He highlighted Simmtech's plans for a significant colocation investment in India, following in the footsteps of their key customer Micron's project in Gujarat. Chun stated, “With the support from the central and state government, we are ready to make a significant investment in India and create thousands of job opportunities for high-skilled talents in Gujarat.” This move reflects the growing importance of India in the global semiconductor industry.

Tata Sons Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran underscored the impact of economic development on social progress, acknowledging Gujarat as the gateway to the future. He outlined Tata Group's significant commitments to expanding their presence in the state, particularly in Sanand, where they are making strides in electric vehicle technology. Chandrasekaran announced plans to build a massive giga factory for 20 GWs of lithium-ion batteries in Sanand, with construction set to commence in the next couple of months. This initiative aligns with India's growing emphasis on sustainable and electric mobility solutions.
