At least 32,552 Palestinians have been killed and 74,980 injured in Israel’s military offensive in the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7, the Palestinian enclave’s health ministry said on Thursday.
There have been 62 Palestinians killed and 91 injured in the past 24 hours, the ministry statement added.
The Gaza-based health ministry said that Israeli tanks and armored vehicles were gathering around the Nasser Medical Complex, but had not entered the hospital yet.
Israeli military on Wednesday raided several areas in Gaza City, killing at least 12 people, according to Palestine TV.
In the northern town of Beit Hanoun in the Gaza Strip, a residential area was hit by Israeli airstrikes. In central Gaza Strip, Nuseirat refugee camp and Zawaida were heavily bombed by the Israeli military, resulting in at least nine deaths.
Israeli airstrikes also hit residential areas in the southern city of Rafah, killing at least 11 Palestinians.
According to local media reports, three Palestinians were killed and nine others were injured by Israeli bombing and gunfire in the West Bank city of Jenin.
Local Palestinian sources said that large Israeli army forces, accompanied by two bulldozers, stormed Jenin and the town of Qabatiya, south of the city, amid an exchange of fire with Palestinian militants. The main entrances to Qabatiya were bulldozed during the raid.
According to the Palestinian Prisoners Society, Israeli forces also arrested 20 Palestinians in the West Bank on the same day.
U.S. media outlets on Wednesday quoted sources as saying the talks on a hostage deal and ceasefire between Israeli and Hamas had come to a deadlock but had not ended yet.
The negotiations are still going on with parties proposing solutions and communicating on the issues involved in the negotiations, according to the sources.
With mediation efforts from Qatar and Egypt, the new truce talks regarding a hostage deal between Israel and Hamas started on March 18 in Doha amid international warnings that Palestinians in Gaza are on the brink of famine.
There are disagreements between the two sides on issues such as the ceasefire deadline, its nature, and the number and proportion of detainees to be released.
According to the Times of Israel, the Israeli government on Tuesday recalled its negotiating team from Qatar after Hamas rejected its latest offer in talks on a hostage deal and truce.
