Amit Shah launches ₹6,453-crore development projects across 17 Rajasthan districts from Alwar

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 954 development works worth ₹6,453 crore across 17 districts of Rajasthan.

Addressing a gathering in Alwar, Shah said empowering the youth, poor, farmers and women is essential for India to achieve the goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047.

He said farmers were receiving Kisan Samman Nidhi, dairy infrastructure worth ₹500 crore was being created for livestock rearers, employment opportunities were being generated for the youth and Saras Dairy was being expanded for the benefit of women.

Shah said the foundation stone was laid for a milk processing plant in Alwar with a capacity of three lakh litres per day. He said its capacity would soon be increased to five lakh litres.

He said cooperative dairies have the potential to transform the rural economy, improve the lives of livestock rearers and create new opportunities for future generations.

The Union Minister said the government aims to take high milk-yielding breeds of cows and buffaloes to households across Rajasthan. He also highlighted steps taken by the Rajasthan government for livestock insurance and said the expansion of dairy infrastructure would create opportunities for exporting milk products.

Four Saras Dairy plants in Bhilwara, Jaipur, Pali and Rajsamand, built at a total cost of ₹274 crore, were also commissioned, Shah said.

He added that four district cooperative banks were also being launched in Phalodi, Balotra, Didwana-Kuchaman and Pratapgarh. Farmers will be able to access loans at zero per cent interest through these banks, he said.

Shah said ₹152 crore under the Chief Minister’s Crop Insurance Scheme had been transferred through Direct Benefit Transfer. He added that more than ₹667 crore had been disbursed to 67 lakh farmers under the Mukhyamantri Kisan Samman Nidhi at ₹1,000 per farmer.

The Home Minister said development works worth ₹5,500 crore were launched earlier in Chittorgarh on Sunday, taking the total value of development works for which foundation stones were laid or which were inaugurated across Rajasthan during the day to ₹11,953 crore.

On the cooperative sector, Shah said Rajasthan currently has around 44,000 cooperative societies and the government’s objective is to ensure that every village in the state has access to a cooperative institution.

He said 50 new warehouses are scheduled to be constructed during 2026-27, while 62 warehouses with a capacity of 100 metric tonnes and 100 warehouses with a capacity of 500 metric tonnes have already been completed.

Highlighting initiatives for farmers and livestock rearers since 2014, Shah said successive measures had been introduced every year, including the Gokul Mission in 2014, Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana and Soil Health Cards in 2015, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana and e-NAM in 2016, Kisan Sampada Yojana in 2017 and the announcement of MSP at 1.5 times the cost of production in 2018.

He also listed the launch of PM-KISAN in 2019, Agriculture Infrastructure Fund and Matsya Sampada Yojana in 2020, the establishment of the Ministry of Cooperation in 2021, Kisan Samriddhi Kendras in 2022, the International Year of Millets in 2023, the National Mission on Edible Oils in 2024 and Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana in 2025.

Shah said that from 2014 to 2026, there had not been a single year in which the Narendra Modi government had not introduced a major initiative for farmers.

He further said the government had recorded the highest-ever procurement of foodgrains at Minimum Support Price under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

According to Shah, MSP for bajra has increased by 130 per cent, mustard by 103 per cent, wheat by 84 per cent, cotton by 120 per cent and jowar by 168 per cent.

Shah said the government’s objective is to make every village prosperous through the cooperative movement and realise Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Sahkar Se Samriddhi’.
