The Israeli prime minister's office also commented on the conversation, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding free shipping in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. They highlighted the threat posed by the Houthis at the behest of Iran and the global interest in preventing harm to international trade, including the economies of Israel and India, as reported by The Times of Israel.
Meanwhile, the Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza reported that at least 19,667 Palestinians have lost their lives in the Israel-Hamas conflict in the Strip since October 7.
