PM Modi to hold election campaigns in UP, MP and Tamil Nadu

Senior BJP leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to campaign for the party in the battleground states of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday. He will also hold a roadshow in the southern state of Tamil Nadu, where the BJP is trying to establish a stronger presence.

PM Modi’s itinerary begins with a scheduled public meeting at 11 am in Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh. Thereafter, he will address a rally in the Naxal-affected Balaghat constituency of Madhya Pradesh

This would be PM Modi’s second visit to Madhya Pradesh in the past three days. The BJP has fielded a fresh candidate, Bharti Pardhi, from Balaghat, replacing the incumbent MP Dhal Singh Bisen.

Earlier on Sunday, Modi launched the BJP’s election campaign in Madhya Pradesh with a large roadshow in Jabalpur. He was joined by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav during the event.

The Lok Sabha elections in Madhya Pradesh will be conducted in four phases – April 19, April 26, May 7, and May 13.

Madhya Pradesh has a total of 29 Lok Sabha constituencies, making it the sixth-largest state in terms of parliamentary representation. Of the 29 seats, 10 are reserved for SC and ST candidates.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, the BJP secured a massive victory in Madhya Pradesh, winning 28 out of the 29 seats and relegating the Congress party to just one seat.

Later in the day, PM Modi is scheduled to hold a roadshow in Tamil Nadu’s South Chennai and Central Chennai.
