The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has partnered with Google to enable the display of authorised Aadhaar centres on Google Maps, in a move aimed at improving accessibility and convenience for residents across the country.
With this initiative, residents will soon be able to locate their nearest verified Aadhaar centres through Google Maps and check the services offered at each location. These include facilities for adult enrolment, child enrolment, and updates related to address or mobile numbers.
The platform will also provide additional information such as centre operating hours, accessibility features including divyang-friendly infrastructure, and availability of parking facilities, wherever applicable. The service is expected to be rolled out in the coming months.
According to UIDAI, the collaboration will help counter misinformation and ensure seamless access to over 60,000 Aadhaar centres nationwide, including Aadhaar Seva Kendras. Only authorised and verified centres will be displayed on Google Maps, ensuring reliability for users.
UIDAI Chief Executive Officer Bhuvnesh Kumar said the initiative aligns with the authority’s focus on enhancing ease of living for Aadhaar number holders, making it simpler and more transparent to locate authorised centres.
In the next phase of the partnership, UIDAI will use Google Business Profile to manage centre information and directly respond to public feedback, aimed at strengthening transparency and service responsiveness.
The collaboration will also explore the possibility of enabling direct appointment bookings through the Google Maps interface, allowing residents to plan their visits more efficiently.
Google India said the partnership would help residents find trusted government services with greater confidence and bridge the gap between essential digital infrastructure and public access.
The initiative marks another step towards leveraging digital platforms to improve delivery of citizen-centric services across the country.
