The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday said that a fresh Western Disturbance is likely to influence weather conditions over northwest India on November 4 and 5. The system is likely to bring changes in temperature and wind patterns across the region, including Delhi-NCR.
In the past 24 hours (ending at 8:30 a.m. on Monday) heavy rainfall measuring 7–11 cm was recorded at isolated places over Konkan and Goa.
In Delhi-NCR, the weather will remain mainly clear on Monday, with maximum temperatures ranging between 29°C and 31°C. Mist and haze is likely during the night, while northwesterly winds will blow at speeds of up to 20 kmph in the afternoon before easing in the evening.
On November 4, the city is likely to experience a partly cloudy sky with smog or shallow fog during morning hours. Maximum temperatures are expected to range between 31°C and 33°C, while minimum temperatures will likely stay between 17°C and 19°C – about 1 to 3 degrees above normal. Light southeasterly winds are expected, becoming moderate in the afternoon and easing again by evening.
The IMD has forecast similar conditions for November 5, with partly cloudy skies and shallow fog in the morning. Daytime temperatures may remain between 29°C and 31°C, while night temperatures will hover around 17°C to 19°C. Winds are expected to shift from the southeast to northwest as the Western Disturbance approaches.
On November 6, smog or shallow fog may persist during morning hours but the sky is expected to remain clear later in the day. Maximum temperatures are likely to settle between 28°C and 30°C, while minimum temperatures will range from 16°C to 18°C. Winds will predominantly blow from the west and northwest directions.
