Yoga Events Held Across UAE Ahead of Global Celebration

With less than 24 hours to go for the International Day of Yoga 2026, anticipation is building across the UAE as diplomatic missions and community groups host a series of pre-event sessions in key locations. In Al Ain, Emirate of Abu Dhabi, an early morning yoga session was held atop Jebel Hafeet, led by Ambassador of India to the UAE Dr. Deepak Mittal and organised by the Indian Social Centre Al Ain. Participants practiced yoga and meditation against the mountain backdrop, highlighting themes of harmony, health, and holistic well-being.

In Dubai, attention turned to women’s health and empowerment, with the Consulate General of India in Dubai partnering with community leader Mrs. Bubbles Kandhari for a dedicated session at the Emirates Golf Club. Led by Ms. Ankita Wakekar, Consul at CGI Dubai, the event brought together women and girls of all ages, reflecting the 2026 theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” and underlining yoga’s role in supporting strength, mental balance, and lifelong wellness.Together, these events reflect the UAE’s growing yoga culture and strong community participation, with thousands expected to take part in tomorrow’s main International Day of Yoga celebrations across the country.
