PM Modi addresses PM SVANidhi beneficiaries, distributes loans to street vendors

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed the beneficiaries of the PM SVANidhi scheme, at JLN Stadium, New Delhi . The Prime Minister distributed loans to 1 lakh street vendors, including 5,000 from Delhi, under the scheme aimed at empowering this vital segment of society.

Acknowledging the resilience of street vendors, especially during the challenging times of the pandemic, PM Modi highlighted their indispensable role in everyday life. Emphasizing the importance of direct financial support, the Prime Minister underscored the distribution of funds directly into the accounts of street vendors nationwide.

Additionally, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for two new corridors of Delhi Metro’s Phase 4, further enhancing urban connectivity and infrastructure development in the capital city.

Addressing the gathering, PM Modi recognized the struggles faced by street vendors in the past due to neglect from previous governments. He emphasized the transformative impact of the PM SVANidhi Yojna in providing financial stability and opportunities for street vendors and their families.

Speaking about the inclusive approach of the government, PM Modi highlighted the substantial increase in the income of street vendors, facilitated by digital transactions and streamlined access to banking services. He also announced incentives for digital transactions, including an annual cashback scheme.

The Prime Minister outlined the holistic benefits provided by the PM SVANidhi scheme, including access to government welfare programs such as free ration, healthcare, and gas connections. He underscored the government’s commitment to improving the lives of the urban poor through initiatives like the One Nation One Ration Card scheme and the rapid construction of pucca houses.

Highlighting the broader development agenda, PM Modi mentioned various initiatives aimed at addressing pollution, traffic congestion, and promoting sports among the youth. He reiterated the government’s dedication to the welfare of the poor and middle classes, emphasizing a vision of inclusive growth and a corruption-free India.

The event was attended by dignitaries including Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Vinay Kumar Saxena, Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs, Hardeep Singh Puri, and Union Minister of State for Finance, Bhagwat Kishanrao Karad.
